‘A modern delicately detailed and proportioned house that does not ape old styles, but still sits comfortably in the low-scale heritage street scape of the neighborhood’

The exterior of this suburban home in Sydney resembles a typical weatherboard family cottage and locally based practice Campbell Architecture were given the task to adapt it into a contemporary and spacious residence. House C3 described as ‘a lightbox for living’ is characterized by an oval-shaped light well that cuts and directs light from the roof down through the levels, to the kitchen on the ground floor. Using durable and natural materials, the overall space is clean, refined and displays a neutral palette- meets the demands of the day-to-day lives of the young family who inhabits it.
